A different take on Adelaide Fashion Festival 2011November 23rd, 2011So I happened to fly back into Adelaide just in time for the final gala of Adelaide Fashion Festival 2011, the Designers Showcase at Norwood Concert Hall. Adelaide Fashion Collective asked me to shoot and we decided to do something a little bit different, so, I didn’t stand in the pit with everyone else*, instead I got all dramatic and decided to catch the details instead. Here are the images from the Adelaide Fashion Collective’s blog, you can see the original post here, cheers for the awesome layouts guys, love it (especially love it when clients choose my favourite shot as the hero)!

More from Red-Heads have more fun…August 5th, 2011I cannot believe how long it’s been since I’ve posted anything, and how long it’s taken me to get some more from this shoot up, oops! Truth be told, I actually couldn’t post more of these images at the time as Sam from Orbe was entering them in a KMS comp, but that’s all over now, so here are my versions of some of my favourite shots from our shoot at my Kent Town studio*. Make-up by the incredibly talented Dan at Orbe and the gorgeous model is Erin from Pride who was happy for Sam to dye her amazing hair a more vibrant red than it already was. We had a few different looks to achieve in this shoot and aimed to get a completely different feel for each style, goes to show how versatile good make up can be, don’t you think? I have a few more hair/beauty shoots which I can’t wait to share with you over the coming weeks. I just love shooting fashion/hair/beauty, it’s always such a colaborative experience, I feel it makes the world a better place!
And this is what happens when you forget to move the ladder out the way of the studio head……!
*which I’ve now moved out of and am missing very much, but can’t wait to move on to better things and places! |

how to wear a model out in three easy steps!March 22nd, 2011
These were taken at a shoot yesterday for Mylk Bottle (check out their Autumn stock in store now). Needless to say, Alys from Finesse Models is AMAZING*, she was also very worn out when we finished with this outfit! Below are a few more of my favourite shots from the shoot with a little play on colour for your Tuesday morning :
And some of the shots as you will see them on Mylk Bottle’s Facebook page & website.

Looking for sun : found cloudsMarch 10th, 2011A couple of weeks ago I decided that I needed a new shoot for an ad in Attitude Magazine (which comes out today by the way). I couldn’t get past the idea of long hair, a big dress and movement (lots of movement). You know the Chanel No 5 films, where the gorgeous actress is always turning away from a very handsome man? So in the course of a day and a half I organised a model, hair, make-up, dress, shoes, a last minute assistant* and got it shot. I was really sick with a cold that day and not very inspiring but I definitely got the shot I was after and then got a few more (though in my head we were shooting in full sun, cruel I know, but it didn’t end up happening anyway). I haven’t picked up a copy of Attitude yet, but the photo on the right is in there somewhere as a full page ad :
In my head, the whole shoot was to be b&w but when I saw what Daniel was doing with make-up I had to shoot some for colour :
And some out-takes just for kicks :
*my good friend Andrea Laube helped out on this one, she also ate all of my Eclairs ;o) model [Alice Hayward, Finesse] : dress [Alexis George] : shoes [Wittner, Rundle Mall] : hair & make-up [Orbe] : a big thank you to you all! |
