I flew back to Adelaide for Theresa & Paolo’s wedding in February. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Auchendarroch House at Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills. I hadn’t shot a wedding there before, and to be honest, with all the radio advertising they were doing before I moved from Adelaide, I was a little afraid that it might feel a bit generic. However, Theresa & Paolo included so many personal details in their day it was hard to keep track and anything but generic-feeling : her great grandmother’s ring tied to the inside of her dress, her dress which was made by her mother, as was the bridesmaid’s dresses, the boy’s initial cufflinks, the groom’s car* to transport the boys to the venue, the wedding cake made by the bride’s aunty, their coreographed mash-up wedding dance, and I’m sure there were more that I’ve forgotten about! They had also organised for us to take photos in the cinema next door, it was so great to have the contrast of a grand old mansion and a new cinema complex to shoot in with-in walking distance, and of course the 3D glasses made it even more fun. Thanks for having me guys, I had so much fun capturing your special day, congratulations again and may your future together have continued laughter just like your wedding. Sorry for the large number of photos on this post, I just couldn’t keep it down and wanted to include as many details as possible :

* normally I’d be a little hesitant to post photos of my client’s number plates, but unfortunately Paolo’s beloved Falcon got written off just after they returned from their honeymoon – yet another reason why your photographer should be someone who shoots weddings regularly and would know to take photos of all the details of your day, imagine if I’d missed the car!
