So I happened to fly back into Adelaide just in time for the final gala of Adelaide Fashion Festival 2011, the Designers Showcase at Norwood Concert Hall. Adelaide Fashion Collective asked me to shoot and we decided to do something a little bit different, so, I didn’t stand in the pit with everyone else*, instead I got all dramatic and decided to catch the details instead. Here are the images from the Adelaide Fashion Collective’s blog, you can see the original post here, cheers for the awesome layouts guys, love it (especially love it when clients choose my favourite shot as the hero)!

*well I was wearing heels for a start…!
I always have a hard time culling down my favourite images from weddings for sneak peeks and Emily & Michael’s wedding was definitely no exception. I love a good simple colour combination, sexy bridesmaid dresses, peonies and tulle, lots of tulle!
Em and Michael were married at Wesley Uniting Church on Fullarton Road, Kent Town, after which we headed to the one and only Glen Ewin Estate, Houghton, for photographs before their reception in the Pulpshed (stunning)! It was a pretty warm day and there were air conditioning problems in the cars (the girls’ cars didn’t have any and the boys’ stopped working), add to that the fact that the wedding at the church beforehand was running 55 minutes late* and it could have been a pretty stressful day, but none of this mattered to Em & Michael, all they cared about was that at the end of the day they were husband & wife. Congratulations Em & Michael, it was a pleasure to capture your wedding day for you, thank you so much for choosing me, here are a few of my favourites for you to enjoy!
A
xx

* seriously, the bride was 55 minutes late, not cool when the church only allows an hour and a half per wedding, yes, your day is about you, but not THAT much about you, poor guests in a church with no air con too!
I cannot believe how long it’s been since I’ve posted anything, and how long it’s taken me to get some more from this shoot up, oops!
Truth be told, I actually couldn’t post more of these images at the time as Sam from Orbe was entering them in a KMS comp, but that’s all over now, so here are my versions of some of my favourite shots from our shoot at my Kent Town studio*. Make-up by the incredibly talented Dan at Orbe and the gorgeous model is Erin from Pride who was happy for Sam to dye her amazing hair a more vibrant red than it already was. We had a few different looks to achieve in this shoot and aimed to get a completely different feel for each style, goes to show how versatile good make up can be, don’t you think?
I have a few more hair/beauty shoots which I can’t wait to share with you over the coming weeks. I just love shooting fashion/hair/beauty, it’s always such a colaborative experience, I feel it makes the world a better place!

And this is what happens when you forget to move the ladder out the way of the studio head……!

*which I’ve now moved out of and am missing very much, but can’t wait to move on to better things and places!
I actually went to a wedding as a guest last weekend, did I enjoy it, of course, was I fidgety, of course, did I cave and get my camera from the car* half way through the reception, uh, yeah, duh!
Congratulations Jude & Robb, it was wonderful to be at your wedding, to catch up with old friends and to steal you away when the light was just right!

*Helen from Mojo Studio was the official photographer for the day, we met a few months ago when I was a bridesmaid for another of my good friends, so it was good to see her again. I just couldn’t resist in the late afternoon sun, and she was gone by then…..
